Bacon wrapped water chestnuts


  • one pound sliced bacon
  • 2 cans (eight ounces each and every) complete water chestnuts, rinsed and drained
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • three/four cup packed brown sugar


  • Cut bacon strips into thirds wrap a strip close to each and every water chestnut and safe with wooden toothpicks. Spot in an ungreased 15x10x1-in. baking pan. Bake at 375° until bacon is crisp, 25 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, in a modest saucepan, mix ketchup and brown sugar cook and stir over medium heat right up until sugar has dissolved. Take away chestnuts to paper towels drain. Dip in ketchup mixture location in a lightly greased 13×9-in. baking dish. Spoon remaining sauce above chestnuts. Return to the oven for 10 minutes.

When I get these to a get together I kinda wish there would be some left overAlas no luck

I use a 1/two cup brown sugar or significantly less,that is sweet sufficient for us. I also lower the bacon in thirds across and use three cans water chestnut’s.I have attempted the other recipes w/mayo or pineapple and so on. and constantly come back to this simple recipe! It is not the holiday’s w/o these nugget’s!

Have been creating these for many many years. I use equal elements ketchup and brown sugar and half a strip of bacon per waterchestnut. Broil right up until bacon is down, place in crockpot, cover with sauce and heat on lower right up until prepared to consume. Requested at all carry-ins.
